Physical Property Requirements For Fire Hose Linings

The fire hose lining usually requires uniform thickness, smooth inner wall, no adhesion, no wrinkle, waterproof, mildew resistance, low temperature resistance and aging resistance, and has certain strength and elasticity. Some hose linings must also be resistant to oil, high temperature, and chemicals. The lining thickness is generally 0.5 to 2.0 mm.

In terms of physical properties, the requirements are as follows: the breaking strength of NR and synthetic rubber linings is not less than 8.30 MPa, and the elongation at break is not less than 400%; the breaking strength of latex linings is not less than 12.41 MPa, and the elongation at break is not less than 400%. Less than 700%. Among synthetic rubbers, styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), neoprene rubber (CR), EPDM and NBR/PVC alloys are often used as fire hose linings.

(I) PVC lining. PVC lining hose is cheap and light, has good weather resistance and certain oil resistance, and the production process is simple, which is very suitable for mass production and a large number of applications in various occasions. The physical properties of the lining generally require that the tear strength is not less than 8.30 MPa, and the elongation at break is not less than 400%. You can choose soft transparent PVC materials that are common in the market, and its Shore A hardness is generally 55-65 degrees. The strength is not less than 13.00 MPa, and the elongation at break is not less than 450%. In addition, flame-retardant PVC materials must be used for special hoses with flame-retardant requirements.

(2) TPU lining. TPU lining has higher strength, better elasticity, wear resistance, low temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, oil resistance and aging resistance. The physical properties of TPU lining generally require that the breaking strength is not less than 13.80 MPa, and the breaking elongation is not less than 400%.
